Floral Designer (PT) (Creative Design)

If you have Floral Design experience, we have a great opportunity for you to apply your creative skills! Our Tinton Falls, NJ store is seeking a PT Floral Designer for its Plant and Decor Department. This position is responsible for creating, arranging and displaying our flowers, creating an appealing selection of our florals for customers. This position requires the individual to be creative and energetic, with experience on floral displays and all floral arrangements.

• Will create floral arrangements for the department, for purchase
• Process all deliveries and stock the cold storage of flowers
• Will display floral arrangements in ready-to-purchase wrapping, vases, boxes, etc., ensuring that the flowers are always in water or are being watered while on shift
• Will store and stock vases, canisters, etc. (glass and floral containers), rotating stock
• Will rotate floral displays and create new floral displays/arrangements for each holiday or occasion, for customer purchases
• Other duties and functions as assigned

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Must be knowledgeable in fresh floral design with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a florist or floral department
• Must have in depth experience of how flowers are arranged for bouquets, vases, etc., with experience arranging flowers for all holidays and special occasions
• Must understand the operations of a Floral Department, deliveries, storage, inventory, sales
• Friendly, approachable, creative and energetic with excellent communication skills

Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard.

There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
