Material Handler​/Driver

• Operate basic power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit‑down forklift) safely and efficiently to locate, put away, stack, and move checked‑in products to correct storage locations on a daily basis.
• Receive product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.
• Inspect freight for damage, verify quantity, and complete necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
• Ensure all required products have verified bar code labels, print labels, resolve labeling discrepancies, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Fill orders by picking, packing items into cartons, and stacking them in a manner that minimizes damage; scan items and complete paperwork.
• Document shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork.
• Prepare orders: palletize, wrap, load pallets and pieces into trucks, place packing list in last skid, and complete paperwork.
• Maintain current accuracy and efficiency standards and follow all standard operating procedures.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and related projects at current location or assigned market.
• Assist in maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety rules, keeping a clean area, and promptly reporting any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Always wear protective equipment as required and access Material Safety Data Sheets when needed.
• Maintain required hazardous materials, forklift, and other certifications as required.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers, treating all with a helpful and courteous attitude.

• Maintain positive relationships with customers by providing exceptional service that includes accurate and timely delivery of products.
• Serve as a key field contact for gathering accurate customer service and delivery expectations.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment consistent with DOT, state, federal, and company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the inside of truck, cab, box, and all assigned work areas.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicle(s) and equipment; report defects or needed repairs promptly.
• Load and unload trucks, checking and verifying deliveries against sales and transfer orders.
• Prepare routes and follow schedules and deadlines for delivery, shipping, receiving, and related tasks.
• Drive straight‑body vehicles, including box trucks, to deliver supplies and equipment to customer locations, job sites, or other Johnstone store locations.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive expedited delivery instructions and communicate delivery, traffic, safety, and customer issues.
• Record sales and/or delivery information; complete manifest with pictures, signatures, and any returns using iPad or manual completion.
• Return vehicle at end of day, verify it is fully fueled; complete monthly driver log and all associated paperwork; ensure the vehicle is secured.
• Return gas receipts, monies, vehicle inspection logs, and any other required paperwork.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, and walk on a concrete floor for much of the workday. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to lift and carry or move up to 50 pounds, with mechanical assistance or team members when needed.
