Overview
Our client in Tipp City, OH is seeking an Engineer with manufacturing, prototyping, and stamping experience. This is a full time direct position.
The Engineer will work within our cross functional teams of design engineers, mass production engineering, prototype and others for the confirmation of manufacturability of our products. They will be able to understand and communicate key information for manufacturability as well as process planning of our products during the design phase. Then reflect manufacturing feedback into product design. Methods involve both physical and virtual tools for validation of product manufacturability.
Efforts will lead to products which achieve customer’s expectations for quality, improvements to production efficiency, and cost reductions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to enhance manufacturing feasibility, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct feasibility assessments of steel stampings using forming software.
- Utilize CAE software to review formability feasibility and improvement.
- Communicate simulation results and recommendations to design teams.
- Support dimensional engineering, tooling, and welding heat distortion studies.
- Coordinate program development milestones and reporting.
- Work with factories to implement process improvements and ensure manufacturability.
- 1-3 years of experience in technical manufacturing or product design environment.
- Bachelors degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or related engineering field.
- Experience in sheet metal stamping, dies, tooling deign, hands-on applications/troubleshooting, and simulations.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred).
