Engineering Co-op - Mechanical

Overview

The Engineering Co-op Student provides mechanical and/or electrical design support in the development of new components and products, as well as improving performance, reliability, and cost of existing components and products. The student will translate high-level design concepts into detailed part drawings/specifications and lead testing. This role offers hands-on experience and coaching in motor design principles and applications.

• Perform testing to support customer requests and inquiries.
• Support manufacturing design or process change requests.
• Use and interpretation of analytical and test equipment.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams.
• Participate in development projects by executing design and documentation.
• Lead design change investigations with the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities.
• Work with mechanical design teams to create test plans.
• Manage the 3-D printer, including loading new files and materials, loading and unloading parts, and maintenance.
• Document layout drawings, detail drawings, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and design records.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant Engineering field.
• No experience required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with global and cross-functional teams, with strong attention to detail.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Ability to create action plans, prioritize time and resources effectively.
• Advanced relationship and team-building skills with integrity and energy.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Basic 3D modeling knowledge – Solid Works.
