The City of Tipp City is accepting applications the Utility Operator I positions in our Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection department.

Under the direction of the Foreman, installs, inspects and repairs the City’s water and wastewater systems; performs routine maintenance; performs building maintenance; operates vehicles and equipment to perform maintenance and install, maintains and repairs to city’s water systems and wastewater systems. The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy of their work product involving execution of various procedures and processes.

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent education. Knowledge of water and sewer related systems is a plus.

Water distribution and wastewater collection principles and practices; backhoe and jet rodder operations;

Must possess and maintain OEPA Class I Water Distribution license or possess and maintain OEPA Class I Water Treatment license or possess and maintain OEPA Class I Wastewater Collection license; valid State of Ohio Class B, with tanker endorsement, commercial driver’s license; valid State of Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.

$24.09-$30.39 per hour

If applicant does not have a Water or Sewer Certification then the applicant would be a Maintenance Specialist II with a pay range of $23.00-$29.01

M-Th 6:00am to 4:30pm. This position shall be part of the Water Distribution on-call rotation schedule, with work at times requiring evenings, weekends, and holidays.
