About the Position

Student Minister (Middle School through College Age) – Full‑time. Reports to Senior Minister. The Student Minister serves as the primary spiritual leader for students from middle school through college age, focusing on intentional discipleship, relational ministry, and leadership development. He/she works collaboratively with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to guide students toward spiritual maturity and meaningful involvement in the life of the church.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive discipleship pathway for middle school, high school, and college‑age students.
  • Teach Scripture in ways that help students understand, apply, and live out their faith.
  • Disciple students, encouraging spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, worship, and service.
  • Identify, equip, and empower student leaders to grow in faith and leadership.
  • Provide pastoral care, guidance, and spiritual support to students during key life transitions.
  • Student Ministry Programming
    • Plan, organize, and lead weekly student ministry gatherings.
    • Oversee age‑appropriate environments for middle school, high school, and college ministries.
    • Coordinate special events including retreats, camps, mission trips, and outreach opportunities.
    • Create engaging, Christ‑centered experiences that foster community and belonging.
    • Develop long‑term and short‑term plans/goals for the growth of the student ministry at FCC.
    • Develop a strong Sunday morning presence geared toward your audience (Sunday school, Serving).
  • Recruit, train, and disciple adult volunteers to serve in student ministries.
  • Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and spiritual leadership to volunteers.
  • Foster a team culture centered on prayer, accountability, and shared mission.
  • Family & Parent Partnership
    • Partner with parents and guardians as the primary spiritual influencers in students’ lives.
    • Communicate regularly with families regarding ministry goals, events, and discipleship opportunities.
    • Equip parents with tools and resources to support student faith development at home.
    • Engage students and their families outside of normal church activities (sporting events, family activities, school functions).
  • Build meaningful relationships with college‑age students and young adults.
  • Create discipleship groups, fellowship opportunities, and leadership roles for this age group.
  • Encourage continued connection to the church during and after high school graduation.
  • Church Collaboration & Administration
    • Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders to align student ministry with the mission and vision of First Christian Church of Titusville.
    • Participate in staff meetings, worship services, and church‑wide events.
    • Manage ministry budgets, schedules, and administrative responsibilities.
    • Ensure adherence to church safety, child protection, and discipleship policies.
    • Be a TEAM player (Together Everyone Accomplishes More).
  • Additional Duties
    • Pastoral Care duties as assigned.
    • Preaching / Teaching as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A clear and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A calling and passion for discipling students and young adults.
  • Experience in student ministry, discipleship, or related ministry settings.
  • Strong teaching, relational, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop volunteers and student leaders.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and attend off‑site events.
