On a day to day this consultant will be working in these key areas:
System Design:
Develop, integrate, and document structural payload system requirements to establish the system design. 3D CAD Design:
Use 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and other design methods to develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs. Provide product definitions to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Testing and Validation:
Perform tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet the required specifications and standards. Supplier Coordination:
Conduct supplier development, test, and production activities. Coordinate with suppliers to optimize designs and achieve program goals.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite in Titusville, FL / Houston, TX / Huntsville, AL.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's Degree in STEM
- 5+ years of experience in structural design engineering
- 5+ years in Model Based definition (3D and 2D)
- 3+ Experience with in CATIA / ENOVIA / Creo / NX design tools
- 5+ years of experience in structural design process from conceptual layout phase through build-to package release.
- 5+ years of experience in developing, qualifying and certifying new materials, parts and processes
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering team
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
