This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our Launch Infrastructure Development construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust project controls systems to monitor cost, schedule, and performance metrics for this critical aerospace facility. You will work closely with construction managers, engineers, and contractors to track progress, identify trends, forecast outcomes, and provide data-driven insights that enable proactive decision-making throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive project controls systems for schedule and cost management
- Create and update integrated master schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software
- Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and opportunities
- Track actual costs against budgets and provide regular variance analyses
- Develop earned value metrics and reporting systems tailored to launch facility construction
- Forecast cost and schedule trends, providing early warning of potential deviations
- Validate contractor progress claims and payment applications
- Prepare comprehensive monthly project status reports for executive management
- Support change management processes with impact analyses and documentation
- Facilitate schedule risk assessments and quantitative risk analyses
- Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams to integrate supply chain milestones
- Lead schedule integration efforts between multiple contractors and work packages
- 10+ years of project controls experience with at least 5 years in complex construction projects
- Demonstrated expertise with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and cost control systems
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequences
- Experience with earned value management systems and performance metrics
