Aboutthe Role
As a Materials and Processes Engineer you will work across a broad range of projects in laboratory and manufacturing environments. You’ll collaborate with designers, test, and manufacturing engineers, using your education and experience to develop and evaluate new technology for hostile environments.
Responsibilities- Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments related to hardware assembly processes and testing.
- Provide technical evaluation and support of manufacturing issues and concerns.
- Participate in M&P selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis; prepare technical and progress reports, specifications, evaluate suppliers, and analyze test reports.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
- A self‑starter who develops solutions to technical issues.
- A motivated individual capable of working closely within a geographically diverse team.
- Someone able to handle shifting priorities, multiple projects, and deadline pressure.
- A communicator comfortable with diverse forums and team levels.
- Someone adept at working with management and program representatives at several levels.
- Experience with a variety of materials and processes engineering disciplines.
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements for materials in structural hardware.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience creating and reviewing specification documents.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain or maintain a Government Top Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with organic materials (polymers, composites, adhesives, films), bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements for materials in structural hardware.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and BOMs to ensure compliance and guiding design, stress, and manufacturing engineers.
- Experience communicating with internal and external customers regularly.
- Non‑conformance and failure analysis disposition experience.
- Previous coordination or oversight with hardware suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ability to multi‑task, handle shifting priorities, and meet project deadlines.
- Active or current Top Secret clearance.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Top Secret.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules providing additional flexibility, including standard 40‑hour weeks, condensed schedules, and additional paid time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.
