PositionStructural Analysis Engineer, Senior level – Experimental Systems Group (ESG), Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Position Responsibilities- Develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish the system design.
- Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Develop and maintain analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of development and sustainment efforts.
- Work with multi‑discipline teams to support mechanical subsystem and payload integration product definition including layouts, detail parts, and installation datasets.
- Support trade studies to identify and evaluate multiple potential design and build options.
- Provide on‑site support for on‑vehicle installation and test.
- Recommend engineering dispositions to hardware non‑conformances and anomalies.
- Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
- Work with team leads to define project plans and provide regular progress updates.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Material Sciences).
- Typically 9 or more years of related work experience.
- Proficiency with stress analysis software (e.g., Nastran/Patran, Hypermesh, Abaqus).
- Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Strong communication skills to interface with different program and customer teams.
- Experience providing structural analysis support for part fabrication, on‑vehicle installation, and manufacturing nonconformances.
- First shift work schedule; position is 100% onsite.
