D5LE2 Test Missile Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) – Lockheed Martin Space – Full‑time, First Shift
The D5LE2 Test Missile RSE serves as the technical advocate for the Missile System Test Configuration from requirements definition, design, integration, testing, and development flight test operations through Initial Fleet Introduction (IFI). This role provides engineering authority and accountability for Test Missile specific requirements, performance, reliability, and safety throughout D5LE2 development.
Responsibilities- Lead the definition, verification, and validation of Test Missile requirements in alignment with program milestones and Navy customer requirements.
- Ensure the technical integrity of the Test Missile while considering allocated cost and schedule constraints.
- Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team (structures, propulsion, guidance, avionics, etc.) to deliver integrated Test Missile solutions.
- Conduct trade studies and technology assessments such as for new materials and architecture concepts.
- Oversee critical design reviews, test plans, and flight test execution; assess test data and drive corrective actions.
- Interface with program management, customers, and certification authorities to ensure compliance with FBM D5LE2 Program requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, risk registers, and status updates for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including incorporation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
Design/Development.
- Experience in technical integration.
- Experience providing technical guidance and support across multiple disciplines, and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success.
- Experience integrating various subsystems and components to meet system requirements.
- Experience working with teams and stakeholders in development projects.
- Prior experience as multiple package certified principle engineer (CPE) or prior experience as a subsystem responsible systems engineer (RSE).
Position requires an Active Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.

- Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment across various sites.
- Systems Modeling and Architecture Experience.
- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Processes and Procedures.
- Master's Degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience working within the FBM program.
Top Secret clearance required.
Work Location & ScheduleOnsite Full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule:
9‑x‑80 every other Friday off.
