Mechanism Manufacturing Engineer
Location:
Kennedy Space Center, Florida
Join Lockheed Martin Space to plan and author procedures for the Orion Spacecraft Elements Team and provide floor support for Mechanical and Electrical Integration environments.
Responsibilities- Creates and/or develops mechanical manufacturing work instructions.
- Determines the sequence of build, selects or designs required tools, and solves production problems during the build of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Assists in investigating design and manufacturing factors such as equipment or part availability, manufacturability, ease of assembly, and large assembly management.
- Develops and maintains all assembly documentation.
- Troubleshoots and corrects anomalies and discrepancies in hardware.
- Performs producibility reviews on engineering designs and drawings to assess manufacturability, ease of assembly, and material availability.
- Interfaces routinely with program personnel and reports project status to leadership.
- Works Sunday through Thursday; availability for alternative shifts including second and split shifts is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of production manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings.
- Strong written communication, including technical writing.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various technical procedures and reports.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Willingness and ability to work alternative shifts, including second and split shifts.
- Must be a United States Citizen.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week to condensed schedules that provide additional time away from the office. These schedules are in addition to Paid Time Off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.
