Project Construction Manager

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

At Blue Origin, we are building the road to space — and that road runs through the ocean. The best-kept secret in space exploration is the critical role of marine assets and the use of one of Earth's most abundant resources — its oceans. The maritime industry has been integral to the exploration of space since its earliest days, with marine crews recovering flight hardware and astronauts since the dawn of human spaceflight.

As the commercial space industry accelerates toward reusability to lower the cost of access to space, the importance of purpose-built marine vessels — and the teams who deliver and operate them — has never been greater.

At Blue Origin, we are assembling a world-class team that pushes the boundaries of vessel development and delivers the simplest, most robust solutions to some of humanity's most complex operational challenges. We are currently executing the new construction of a marine vessel specifically designed to support the at-sea recovery of orbital-class rocket boosters, and we need a team of four Project Construction Managers who will be the boots on the ground at the shipyard — driving daily construction execution from steel cutting through sea trials and delivery.

If you have the ambition, drive, and determination to roll up your sleeves in a shipyard and help build a vessel that will change the world, this is the role for you. We are looking for motivated professionals eager to apply their technical knowledge, hands-on shipyard experience, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Travel:

  • Ability to relocate to Cape Canaveral, Florida
  • 50–70% job-related travel, including extended periods at shipyard locations
  • International travel required

Responsibilities:

  • Execute day-to-day construction management activities at the shipyard under the technical direction of the Technical Lead (Analyst / Naval Architect)
  • Monitor shipyard contractor performance for quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with specifications
  • Track construction milestones, identify schedule risks, and escalate issues with proposed mitigation plans to the Technical Lead
  • Prepare and submit regular construction progress reports to the Technical Lead and senior management
  • Support subcontract activities including requests for proposal, specification development, and statement of work execution
  • Coordinate with ABS surveyors and USCG OCMIs to support regulatory compliance and timely completion of inspections
  • Coordinate with the Technical Lead (Analyst / Naval Architect) on engineering deliverables, technical specifications, and change management
  • Coordinate with the Senior Marine Electrical Engineer on procurement, installation schedules, and commissioning plans for electrical systems
  • Coordinate with the Recovery Offshore Operations Engineer to support vessel outfitting and recovery system installation timelines
  • Coordinate with fellow Project Construction Managers to ensure complete coverage of construction activities across all disciplines and build phases
  • Read and assess blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support informed decision-making and alignment with OEM best practices
  • Assist in developing drawings and specifications to define requirements for vessel modifications as needed during construction
  • Support FAT testing of marine electrical systems and automation equipment
  • Support schedule mitigation efforts and corrective action planning during project execution
  • Support verification planning, testing, and commissioning activities through vessel…
