Job Overview
Lockheed Martin Space in Titusville, FL is offering a mid‑career System Safety Engineer position. The role involves developing and defining safety analysis and strategies to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile program, ensuring that safety is integrated into hardware and software products and that all controls remain effective and compliant with safety requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop and update hazard analysis products, including System Hazard Analyses and Safety Assessment Reports for equipment and facilities.
- Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings.
- Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to meet Customer and Range Safety contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with customer safety counterparts and support weapon systems working groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of system safety design and operations safety principles, including experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, safety requirements management, and associated deliverables.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations, and customers.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience using MIL‑STD‑882E or other relevant industry and/or safety standards.
- Experience developing Safety Assessment Reports (SAR) and/or other system safety assessment documentation.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Work Location: Onsite Full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility in Titusville, FL.
Work Schedules: The role involves a 9x80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
