This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Blue Origin is looking for qualified and motivated individuals to lead the team of strong Manufacturing Engineers supporting the production of the human capable Lunar vehicle manufacturing. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. The focus of this Manufacturing Engineering manager role is to lead and support the talented team of Manufacturing Engineers in the manufacturing execution of all human capable Lunar vehicles.
This role includes overseeing the support of build execution, the translation of engineering definition into manufacturing work instructions, and the processing build non-conformances.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Enable the success of a team comprised of high-impact Manufacturing Engineers.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to help engineers develop goals, career paths, and ensure professional development.
- Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability for all team members.
- Ensure workflow and priorities are balanced across the team to support program milestones.
- Evaluate staffing requirements and grow the team by recruiting and hiring top-performing manufacturing engineers.
- Own manufacturing engineering deliverables across the lifecycle, including process creation, acceptance and test plans, tooling and equipment definition and commissioning, and the authoring of work instructions.
- Support the team in applying robust, consistent, and reliable engineering fundamentals and processes.
- Engage in Manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) creation and maintenance and Product Structure definition.
- Review and understand company-wide processes and command media to ensure proper compliance.
- Coordinate and work closely with program managers, operations leaders, and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to meet design, build, and test objectives.
- Promote and lead Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) and Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test.
- Champion a strong safety culture and world-class mission assurance in all manufacturing processes, ensuring rigorous adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement using lean principles, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions — collaborating closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other partner teams to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and ensure on-time delivery of flight hardware.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related engineering field from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering.
- Demonstrated commitment to world-class mission assurance, quality, and attention to detail, consistently modeling safety, integrity, and ownership.
- Flexibility to change shifts as needed and to work extended hours when required to support production schedules.
- Ability to work onsite daily in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
