Mental Health Technician (Psych Tech) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to adolescent residential patients. The Mental Health Technician works under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Facilitates group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
- Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
- Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de‑escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.
- Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to exhibit empathy, respect and compassion that involve understanding and care for patients.

QualificationsRequirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Prefer one (1) year related experience required. Psychiatric Technician experience is preferred.
Shift Differential for night and weekend shifts.
M-F (7pm-7am) $2.00/hour
S/S (7am-7pm) $1.50/hour
S/S (7pm-7am) $3.50/hour
