BCLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (preferred)
Must-Have:
Strong Labor and Delivery experience required.
Experience with postpartum, Mother-Baby, and Med/Surg is a plus.
Fetal Heart Monitoring and Labor Support experience required.
Knowledge of Pregnancy related diagnoses, Induction of Labor, and Newborn Resuscitation is necessary.
Description:
The position involves working in a Women's Center, specifically in Labor and Delivery.
Staff will assist with the management of labor, including Pitocin Induction and support for vaginal exams.
The nurse will be responsible for the care of both mothers and newborns.
Experience in assisting with breastfeeding after delivery is required.
Candidates should be familiar with Triage processes for obstetrical patients.
The unit features a collaborative work environment, requiring teamwork among staff.
Skill in recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is necessary.
Candidates should be adept in circulating for C-sections and performing sterile vaginal exams.
The facility requires flexibility in scheduling with potential floats to different areas as needed.
Weekend requirements will vary based on hospital needs.
Successful candidates will engage in patient care for a census of approximately 40-50 deliveries per month.
Patient age groups will include neonates, adolescents, and adults.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment, adapting to the needs of the unit and patients.
