Associate Director, Patient Data Management & Operations (Oncology & Neuroscience)

OverviewJohnson & Johnson is seeking an experienced leader to assume the role of Associate Director for Patient Data Management & Operations, acting as the data quarterback for our Oncology and Neuroscience brands within the Customer Engagement and Digital Transformation (CEDT) team. The incumbent will lead data strategy, governance, and operational initiatives across the portfolio and future launches.
Responsibilities- Own overall management and operations of patient data for the Oncology and Neuroscience portfolio, overseeing strategy, operations, and ongoing quality of the data assets.
- Lead the ongoing quality and application of the JJIM data pipeline supporting insights, analytics, patient experience, sales, and marketing.
- Serve as the key contact ("data quarterback") within the StAT organization for patient data related needs and advise stakeholders on best data sources.
- Lead the data governance program for the patient data, actively supervising data quality and resolving data-related issues.
- Lead data change‑management, issue resolution, and data integration projects for existing products and new launches (build project plans, perform validation, and manage change).
- Lead data‑centric projects, managing resources, execution, and communication (e.g., data onboarding, data events/disruptions).
- Collaborate with internal business partners on data validation and coordination activities for stakeholders, reports, and systems.
- Engage business‑process owners to align action plans for mitigation of data events/changes across commercial operations.
- Lead annual data purchases and processing budgets, build POs, and collaborate with finance, procurement, and business owners on spending.
- Maintain inventory of purchased data and promote awareness of its use in relevant use cases.
- Evaluate new data sources that may provide insights or competitive advantage and advise future data strategy.
- Ensure data vendors align with SLAs, ensuring data quality, timely delivery, and timely resolution of inquiries.
- 8+ years of experience in data management, analytics, insights, or commercial excellence within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Business, Technology, Analytics, or Health Sciences.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of pharma industry data sources/products (e.g., HUB, patient support programs, specialty pharmacy, claims, RWE/HEOR).
- Experience establishing and leading data partnerships with external vendors.
- Strong grasp of data analytics, AI, and machine‑learning concepts and their application to business operations.
- Proficiency with data querying and business‑intelligence tools for managing large data sets.
- Understanding of data governance, data lifecycle, data quality, metadata, and data management methodologies.
- Critical thinking, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills based on meticulous data analysis.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams and with senior leadership.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry‑specific compliance considerations.
Base pay range: $137,000 to $235,750 USD. The position is eligible for the Company’s long‑term incentive program and consolidated retirement plan (401(k)).
