Lockheed Martin Space in Cape Canaveral, FL seeks a Manufacturing Planning Manager to join our mission and lead a diverse team of shop floor controllers, material requirements planners, and consumable leads supporting the Orion/Artemis programs Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building the Orion Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle , NASA's first spacecraft designed for long duration, human rated deep space exploration Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth
The Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations ATLO organization is responsible for the final build up, test, and launch operations support of our spacecraft Collaborating with your leadership counterparts in program, planning, quality, engineering, prod ops, test, and ATLO, you will ensure teams are set up to meet production schedule commitments to the customer As the manager, you will be responsible for directing your team through day to day activities
** In this role, you will...*
* - Lead and develop a team of up to 20 material requirements planners MRP s, shop floor controllers, and consumables leads
- Provide management responsibilities including performance management and training
- Oversee all work performed by your team to meet operational commitments
- Team with program customers early in the lifecycle to drive efficiency and standardization for production planning processes
- Ensure demand is loaded and maintained accurately and utilize KPI metrics to ensure team is working in alignment to production planning processes and requirements
- Engage with ATLO, Program, and Production Planning leadership to ensure strategic goals and initiatives are progressing to plan
- Communicate material status, issues, potential scheduling impacts, and path forward plans to multiple levels of the organization as well as to ATLO and program stakeholders
- Perform look ahead analysis to proactively manage potential upcoming conflicts and obstacles in order to minimize any impact on hardware delivery
- Drive solutions and improvements for planning obstacles and help standardize these improvements across the planning team

* Basic Qualifications:
*
* - 8 10 years of prior experience in one of the following areas:
Production Planning & Control, Inventory Management, Manufacturing/Production Operations
- Extensive experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning ERP system such as SAP and/or experience working with scheduling software ex Microsoft Project
- Prior leadership experience either formal or informal leadership
- Strong Microsoft Office skills Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Due to work location requirements, U S citizenship is required

* - Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Material Requirements Planning MRP and demand management theory and practices
- Professional experience with production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using SAP as a production ERP system
- Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Proven ability to proactively identify and drive change
- Demonstrated experience communicating/briefing executives, leaders, and customers
- Experience supporting AS9100 and other audit requirements
