Responsibilities- Evaluate manufacturing schedule and coordinate the availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements
- Perform shop order release/closure in the MRP system and reconcile parts
- Provide detailed status of work in progress, material availability, and communicate constraints to schedule
- Prepare work orders for production of parts based on master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements
- Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics and program
- Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders
- Work cross-functionally to expedite any material shortages with procurement, receiving, quality, and other production areas
- Implement material stocking strategy on production lines, monitor, control and maintain proper floor stock
- Control the proper access and consumption of material in manufacturing – custodian of the cash
- Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule
- Monitor the velocity of the disposition of MRB and stranded material
- Enter material transactions in ERP system
- Prepare reports and note shortages/damage
- Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required
- Prepare for, conduct and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts
- Knowledge of backflush process
- Work with Production and Materials teams to resolve part discrepancies
- May interface with departments throughout the company
- Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision making skills, and the ability to think outside the box
- 2+ years supply chain experience
- Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Experience with planning and/or scheduling activities
- Experience working with a cross functional team
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrates understanding and ability to apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
- Associate or bachelor s Degree
- Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel on occasion
- May work in areas with exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, outdoor weather, moving parts, or part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary
- Experience with ERP systems
- Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload, priorities, and management decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
