American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at an acute care hospital in Florida, requiring 2.5 years of ED experience, prior travel experience, and neuro/stroke background.
Details- Work setting is a 210-bed acute care hospital in an Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Charting system is Meditech (experience preferred)
- STEMI and stroke certified facility
- Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS; TNCC and SANE are preferred
- Minimum 2.5 years of ED experience required
- Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required
- Minimum 2 prior travel assignments required
- Experience with Level 1 resuscitation patients required
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Strong ED skills required including triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, emergency medications, procedural sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, and CVA/stroke management
- Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible
- No travel pairs or trios accepted
- RTO is limited to no more than 10 days and requires an extension of 2 additional weeks to the assignment; no RTO during the first or last week of the assignment
- Block scheduling is not available
- Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 holidays fall within the assignment, travelers must work 1 holiday eve and 1 holiday; if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, travelers must work 1 holiday eve and 2 holidays
- Pre-start and annual online modules are required and are non-billable; ED modules can take up to 10–12 hours to complete
- Scrubs may be any color; no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or clothing with logos from other organizations
- Parking is free in any unrestricted space
- 3 call-outs will result in termination
- Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
