Job Summary
Boeing Defense, Space & Security’s X‑37B program at the Kennedy Space Center is seeking a Quality Production Specialist to support inspection of X‑37B hardware, documentation of non‑conformances, area audits/surveillances, and receiving inspection. This position is located in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Position Responsibilities Level 2- Assist with oversight/inspection of operations to verify product integrity.
- Assist with review and validation of product non‑conformances, disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
- Support analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes.
- Participate in investigation to determine root cause of nonconformance.
- Apply basic knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
- Gather data and provide recommendations to address nonconformances.
- Assist with the development, modification and documentation of actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action.
- Assist in obtaining corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes, submit for review.
- Support concurrence and obtain commitments to support program resolution.
- Participate and observe validation associated with corrective action to ensure nonconformance has been eliminated.
- Verify internal replication systems adhere to company and regulatory standards and procedures.
- Create airplane‑specific airborne software packages.
- Perform audits and surveillances of areas to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Assist in creating reports and coordinate with responsible parties for internal distribution.
- Work under general supervision.
- Provide oversight/inspection of operations to verify product integrity.
- Review and validate product non‑conformances, disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
- Perform analysis to evaluate quality of products, operations and processes against Quality Management System requirements, company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
- Apply aerospace design, systems and integration knowledge to perform failure and forensic analysis.
- Train and mentor employees in the Quality Management System.
- Perform root cause analysis on nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.
- Independently develop, modify and document corrective/preventive actions and document resolution.
- Obtain corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes.
- Negotiate concurrence, obtain commitments for preventive and corrective action, prioritize quality activities and ensure resolution.
- Review and validate corrective action plans and evaluate effectiveness.
- Review and approve quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware/products.
- Guide validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies.
- Develop software system processes to support changing industry standards.
- Review and implement corrective action on audit results to ensure media is handled per engineering requirements.
- Perform audits and surveillances of areas to ensure compliance.
- Interpret industry standards and provide implementation recommendations.
- Create analytical reports and coordinate with responsible parties for internal/external distribution.
- Work under general direction.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
Basic Qualifications- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.
- 1+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 1+ years of experience in inspection.
- Experience with MESci, TIPQA and ECC.
- Experience with Team Center.
- Knowledge of the Boeing Quality Management System and Production System.
The position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
