Position Introduction/Key DutiesCimarron is seeking a part-time Quality Technician to support cargo bag and experiment processing operations at the Kennedy Space Center Florida. This role may involve on-call support with 48-hour notice for cargo bag and pad operations, or sustained weekly support during experiment operations conducted in the Space Systems Processing Facility (SSPF).
This position operates under two possible support models:
- On-call/48-hour notice — for cargo bag and pad operations
- Sustained weekly support — during active experiment operations in the SSPF
During on-call shifts, mileage to and from KSC is reimburseable.
Key Duties :- Perform quality inspection and verification of flight hardware, cargo bags, and experiment hardware during processing operations in the Space Systems Processing Facility (SSPF).
- Support cargo bag build, closeout, stow, and turnover activities in accordance with Cimarron, Customer, and NASA procedures.
- Document hardware specific identification data, including part number, serial number, and lot or batch number, in customer and NASA systems of record.
- Verify conformance of processing operations to approved work authorization documents and initiate nonconformance documentation when discrepancies are identified.
- Handle, package, and transport flight hardware using approved cleanroom and ESD control practices.
- Respond to on call taskings within 48 hours for cargo bag and pad operations, including work at launch pads at any time of day.
- Coordinate with NASA quality representatives, payload engineers, and customer personnel to resolve processing issues.
- Learn and use customer provided data systems for hardware tracking, work authorization, and quality record management.
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real
-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your Real

- Available as needed within a 48-hour notice to support work at any time of the day.
- 15 or more years of experience as a Quality Technician supporting spacecraft programs.
- Experience with Maximo.
- Ability to work as a team member remotely and independently.
- Excellent judgement and ability to adhere to established Cimarron, customer, and NASA procedures.
- Ability to use a computer and utilize new systems.
- Ability to work at a launch pad.
- Familiarity with cargo bag/scientific operations on orbit.
- Previous certifications or knowledge of:
- Cleanroom operations
- ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling
- Handling/packaging of flight hardware
- Documentation of hardware-specific identification (P/N, S/N, lot/batch, etc.)
- High School diploma or equivalent.
