$18.21 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs experienced service maintenance work in the routine maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and/or mechanical equipment for Parks and Recreation. Employees may assist skilled crafts and trades workers and may direct the work of Parks Maintenance Technicians. Work differs from that performed by one of the County's skilled crafts and trades workers in that it is not exclusively in one crafts or trades area and it is not at the skilled level.
REQUIREMENTSTwo (2) years of experience in grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and mechanical or equipment repair and maintenance. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS- Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
- All candidates selected for an interview must successfully pass a practical skills evaluation in order to move to the next step of the selection process.
- Must successfully complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all of the classes for the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees.
- The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation, performed in accordance with Brevard County Administrative Order 5 (AO-5), discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5).
- In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
