Job DescriptionFull Time position. Open Until Filled. $2,004.78 to $2,405.74 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Titusville. Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs skilled professional work directing the planning, construction, and maintenance of the county roadway and drainage system and maintenance facility of an assigned area/district of the County. Supervision is given to supervisory, crafts and trades, maintenance, and clerical maintenance personnel.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Management, or a closely related field PLUS four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the construction and/or maintenance of public roads, drainage, bridges, and facility infrastructure, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity that involved overseeing labor and equipment resources; planning and preparing budgets; developing and executing contracts and bids; developing and achieving performance goals;
and planning, estimating, scheduling, and managing projects utilizing work management software, mapping software, and mobile devices. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment an active Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification in an active status during the term of employment.
Must possess, or successfully complete within eighteen (18) months of employment, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) ICS-100, ICS-200, G-300, G-400, ICS-700, and ICS-800 certification training. Must be able to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays during special projects or in emergency or disaster situations. This position is subject to 24-hour calls. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
