Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for mechanical equipment?
CNC Recruitment is seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Pipe Fitter to join our client based in the Mid Devon district
Location: Tiverton
Role Type: Field-based
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience and skill set)
* MUST BE HAPPY TO WORK AWAY DURING THE WEEK*
Key Responsibilities- Carry out commercial biomass boiler installations and project work nationwide
- Lead on-site pipe fitting activities, providing technical guidance and decision‑making support to the Project Manager
- Provide technical support to Treco operations staff as required
- Complete detailed snagging lists and reports for commissioning
- Assist with compiling parts lists where necessary
- Diagnose faults, attend breakdowns, and recommend corrective actions
- Build and supervise boiler installations
- Provide detailed breakdown reports, including required parts lists
- Carry out installation work in full accordance with issued design drawings, documenting any deviations
- Undertake pre‑commissioning checks when required
- Provide technical support to customers via telephone and on‑site visits
- Complete meter changes in line with RHI/Ofgem requirements, including supporting documentation and images
- Carry out servicing and maintenance of boilers
- Accurately assess labour and parts required for servicing and breakdowns
- Conduct risk assessments for all site visits
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- Supervise junior team members where applicable
- Maintain a professional and positive image of the Treco Group
- Complete timesheets, expense forms, and mandatory training as required
- Follow company processes and procedures
- Maintain company vehicle and tools in good working order
- Work away from home during the week when required
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Good written and spoken English
- Full UK driving licence
Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience
- IPAF and/or PASMA licence
- Biomass boiler experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Effective communicator with colleagues, trades, and clients
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills
- Reliable and able to meet deadlines
- Proactive with strong problem‑solving abilities
- Professional and approachable manner
