Location: Tiverton, RI

Schedule: Full‑Time

Pay Rate: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour

Employment Type: Full‑Time

Overview

DW Bridges is seeking a caring and motivated Preschool Teacher to support a Pre‑K classroom serving children ages 4‑5. This role is ideal for early childhood professionals who are passionate about play‑based learning, child development, and creating a warm, engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily instruction and classroom activities
  • Support literacy, math, science, STEM/STEAM, art, sensory play, and hands‑on exploration
  • Help implement Creative Curriculum lesson plans and thematic units
  • Set up and maintain classroom learning centers and materials
  • Promote positive behavior, social‑emotional development, and cooperative play
  • Observe children's developmental progress and assist with documentation
  • Communicate with families using digital parent engagement platforms (training provided)
  • Maintain a safe, organized classroom in compliance with RIDHS child care licensing standards
  • Supervise children indoors and outdoors while maintaining required ratios
  • Provide classroom coverage and float between rooms as needed
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development
Must Have Criteria
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CDA, RIELDS coursework, or early childhood education training preferred
  • Experience working with preschool‑age children in a child care center, preschool, camp, or similar setting
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and classroom support skills
  • Patient, dependable, and enthusiastic about play‑based and child‑centered learning
  • Comfort using digital parent communication platforms
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
