Speech‑Language Pathologist – Tiverton Middle School
Starting Date: Aug 25, 2026
Job Description To enable students who require Speech and Language support to derive the fullest educational experience from school by identifying individual needs related to speech, language, articulation, expression and understanding as it relates to the student’s learning and the development of peer and social relationships.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree earned from an accredited educational institution
- Valid certificate to practice as a School SLP in the State of Rhode Island
Responsibilities
Conduct speech/language evaluations to assess articulation skills, receptive and expressive language levelsPrepare interpretive reports from speech/language assessment in a lucid style suitable for parents, guardians and other professionalsConfer directly with administrators, teachers, parents, guardians and students regarding findings and offer appropriate recommendationsProvide individual and/or group therapy sessions to students in assigned buildingsParticipate actively in weekly case evaluation team conferences and offer constructive suggestions for assisting referred studentsContact and cooperate with personnel of medical and community based agencies to seek services for the welfare of referred studentsConduct periodic re‑evaluations of students as needed, requested or required by regulationAttend scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as neededInterpret the school speech and language services to teachers and parents/guardiansAssist in developing and writing individualized educational programs (IEP) as part of a core evaluation team for studentsDiversity Commitment
