Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Toccoa, Georgia

Whether you're experienced with Braille or specializing in non-Braille curriculum, you'll play a crucial role in shaping inclusive learning environments.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Active Georgia TVI licensure/certification
  • Valid GA Educator Certificate
  • Previous experience working in a school setting supporting visually impaired students
  • Comfort with IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and, if applicable, Braille/Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) instruction
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing processes (preferred)
  • Reliable transportation to cover in-person services
  • Ability to pass all required background and employment screenings
Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct TVI services to students according to their IEPs
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators and families
  • Monitor and document student progress, updating plans as needed
  • Provide Braille or expanded core curriculum instruction (as needed per skillset)
  • Support compliance with relevant documentation and Medicaid billing requirements
  • Foster collaboration among school teams and families to ensure comprehensive student support
Assignment Information:
  • Contract position from 7/31/26 through 6/3/27
  • Flexible part-time schedule:
    Up to 20 hours/week if able to provide Braille instruction, or 7-8 hours/week for non-Braille
  • Virtual interview process
