Position Summary
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher provides targeted instruction and support to students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. This role focuses on early, proactive intervention through small-group instruction, data-driven strategies, and collaboration with classroom teachers to accelerate student success in literacy and/or mathematics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide research-based interventions in reading and/or math to students identified as needing additional support.
Deliver instruction through small-group, push-in, pull-out, or co-teaching models as determined by school needs.
Use formative and diagnostic assessments to determine student eligibility, monitor progress, and adjust instruction.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align intervention plans with core curriculum and grade-level standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of student data, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring.
Participate in RTI/MTSS meetings and contribute to the development of support plans for struggling learners.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for home support.
Engage in professional learning to stay current on effective intervention practices and instructional strategies.
Adhere to state and district EIP program guidelines and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Valid Georgia teaching certificate (T-4 or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or appropriate content area.
Experience with small-group instruction, early literacy/math strategies, and/or intervention programs preferred.
Strong understanding of MTSS/RTI processes, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction.
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE).
Familiarity with intervention programs and tools.
Ability to differentiate instruction and implement evidence-based strategies for diverse learners.
Strong classroom management and student engagement practices.
