Hello, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a part-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for a school setting in Toccoa, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by empowering students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through specialized instruction, collaboration, and support that drives academic success, communication growth, and independence.

- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct assessments and use data to guide instructional decisions.
- Support development of communication skills, including spoken language, sign language, and/or total communication approaches.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Work with related service providers (e.g., audiologists, speech-language pathologists).
- Provide training and support to staff regarding hearing loss and classroom accommodations.
- Monitor and maintain assistive listening devices and hearing technology.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA and district policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid state teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification).
- Knowledge of hearing impairments, language development, and instructional strategies.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with students with hearing loss in a school setting preferred, not required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
