Join PALFINGER as a Marine Service Technician
and take on a hands-on, field-based role supporting critical marine equipment. Based in Portsmouth, Virginia, you’ll inspect, service, and repair lifeboats, davits/winches, cranes, and other PALFINGER Marine equipment. The role offers travel, variety, and real responsibility across demanding marine environments. Your work directly supports the safety, reliability, and performance of our marine product lines.

Your Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, commission, and perform annual and 5-year services on lifeboats, davit/winch systems, and PALFINGER cranes.
  • Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in the field.
  • Read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Complete clear, accurate service reports and required documentation.
  • Communicate job status and progress with the Service Coordinator/Manager and support assembly or production activities when needed.
Your Qualifications
  • A strong technical background with hands-on experience in hydraulic and mechanical/electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in the marine or offshore industry (preferred).
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, and electrical systems in marine or fishing environments.
  • Willingness to travel and a strong commitment to working safely in line with HSE guidelines.
  • Clear communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
