Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a services team in Toledo, Ohio. This permanent, on-site position offers the opportunity to support core accounting functions while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on accounting experience, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate financial records.

- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules to help ensure timely and reliable reporting.

- Manage general ledger activity by posting journal entries and reviewing account balances for accuracy.

- Perform bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding items promptly.

- Assist with tax-related work, including gathering documentation and supporting preparation processes.

- Process payroll accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable requirements.

- Support bookkeeping functions for client accounts and respond to routine financial inquiries with care.

- Analyze financial data to identify patterns, variances, and areas that may require follow-up or action. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- At least 1 year of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, public accounting, or a similar area.

- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial statement preparation, and general ledger maintenance.

- Experience with journal entries, bank reconciliations, tax support, payroll processing, and bookkeeping responsibilities.

- Proficiency with accounting software, including Quick Books, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.

- Ability to work on-site in Toledo, Ohio.

- Authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to work in the U.S. now and in the future.

- Strong communication skills, strong organization, and close attention to detail.
