Staff Accountant

Nemsys LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role is responsible for core accounting functions — general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, and financial reporting — while also supervising the Procurement & Inventory Manager to help ensure purchasing and inventory practices stay aligned with company budgets.

continues to scale, the Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility in financial planning, compliance, and reporting, with a clear path toward a senior finance leadership role over time.
- $45,000 – $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience; prior supervisory experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP software (e.g., Quick Books) and advanced Excel skills.
- CPA, or active progress toward CPA licensure, a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced organization.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis under the direction of the CEO.
- Help ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Assist in preparing materials for board meetings and external stakeholders.
- Support cost-benefit analysis and financial modeling for company initiatives.
- Help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Support audit preparation and coordinate documentation for external auditors.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Supervise the Procurement & Inventory Manager.
- Review purchasing activity, vendor contracts, and inventory controls.
- Ensure procurement practices align with budgetary goals and operational needs.
