Accounting Analyst

Robert Half Talent Solutions has partnered with a community-focused organization in Toledo as they look for an Accounting Analyst to join their team! As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic priorities. This position blends financial analysis, accounting operations, internal controls, compliance oversight, and cross-functional project support.  
As part of an evolving organization, this role will help advance finance's contribution to the organization's 5-year plan, as you touch:

Financial Analysis & Reporting

+ Perform financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance reporting to support decision-making

+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

+ Develop financial models to assess business performance and strategic initiatives

+ Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to leadership

Accounting & Financial Operations

+ Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations

+ Manage the monthly grant draw process

+ Maintain the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts

+ Assist in preparing financial statements

+ Support internal and external audit processes

Compliance & Internal Controls

+ Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

+ Evaluate and strengthen internal controls to reduce financial and operational risk

+ Participate in compliance reviews, testing, and documentation

+ Assist with implementing new policies, controls, and compliance initiatives

Projects & Process Improvement

+ Lead or contribute to cross-functional finance and operational projects

+ Identify process improvement and automation opportunities

+ Support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations

+ Assist with strategic initiatives and CFO priorities as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

+ 2+ years of accounting, with analytical experience (or an analytical mindset you are ready to put to use!)

+ Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or financial systems

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences

+ High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
