In House Scheduler

Full Time Shift Available

The Scheduler is responsible for preparing and managing the daily and weekly staffing schedules for nursing and other departments to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care in a long-term care setting. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain accurate work schedules for nursing and support staff based on facility census, staffing ratios, and regulatory requirements.

  · Monitor call-ins, tardiness, and absenteeism; find coverage for open shifts promptly to maintain staffing compliance.

  · Maintain employee schedule records, availability, PTO requests, and attendance logs.

  · Ensure schedules are posted in a timely manner and communicated to all relevant departments and personnel.

  · Collaborate with department heads to adjust schedules based on admissions, discharges, training, and leaves of absence.

  · Input data into scheduling software and/or timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos, Smart Linx, OnShift).

  · Communicate schedule changes, updates, or urgent staffing needs to employees and supervisors.

  · Track overtime and manage staffing to minimize unnecessary labor costs.

  · Assist HR or payroll with attendance-related issues and reporting.

  · All other duties as assigned by Administration.
