General

Summary:

Assist clients in applying for MBE, WBE, EDGE, and Veteran-Friendly certifications and provide overall administrative support for the program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop in depth knowledge of certification processes, consult with clients to determine if certification is advantageous, and guide clients through the certification process.

Attending training sessions for business advisors to facilitate on-going knowledge and ability to provide in-depth consulting.

In partnership with staff, develop and present workshops regarding State certifications.

Other dutiesand additional projects as assigned by the MBAC Director, Division’s Business Certification Manager or other Division staff.

Responsible for various monthly reports including the DAR report.

Serve as the Communications Practitioner for Social Media for the Minority Business Assistance Center

Utilize Sales Force to support client activity, tracking Key Performance Metrics, and creating various outreach campaigns for MBAC events.

Operational support including but not limited to client intake, client scheduling, phone inquiries, walk ins, etc.

Job Specifications:

Certification Specialist should be a graduate of a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or other related fields and/or possess a minimum of five years of experience in business management or business ownership. An equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.

Additional requirements for the proposed Certification Specialist include:

Thorough knowledge of business principles
Understanding MBE, WBE, EDGE, and Veteran-Friendly certifications.
High level of interpersonal analytical and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments, organize and establish work priorities with minimal direction and supervision.
Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and the ability to travel.
