Superintendent- Water​/Wastewater Plant Construction

Kokosing’s services include heavy civil/industrial construction such as highways, bridges, underground utilities, water/wastewater facilities, and marine construction.

Supervise skilled trades crews and manage onsite construction activities for a wide variety of large, industrial projects focused in Michigan. Projects range from Water/Wastewater plant construction to factories/production facilities and data centers across diverse industries.

• Lead and manage several Foreman to conduct work safely, productively, and focus on quality.
• Set a 24/7 Safety culture for crews.
• Assist the Project Manager in creating the Primavera P6 project schedule.
• Develop 90‑day and 3‑week schedules for crews.
• Conduct pre‑planning and goal setting with crews.
• Oversee costs associated with work items.
• Coordinate manpower, heavy equipment, tooling, and material needs for crews.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors.
• Plan, assign, and directed work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Assist with interviewing and training employees.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical experience; progressing through ranks as Journeyman, Foreman, Superintendent.

6+ years of similar construction field management experience.

• Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards.
• Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project vitals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; manage a varied self‑performing trade team.
• Assemble 90‑day and 3‑week schedules in Microsoft Excel and use Microsoft Word for pre‑planning processes.
• Assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
