Toledo Pole Barns Construction Operations Manager

Lead the people. Strengthen the systems. Help scale the next stage of Toledo Pole Barns.

Toledo Pole Barns is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to oversee project execution, lead Project Managers, improve operational performance, and help scale the business.

We specialize in high‑quality custom pole barns, including agricultural, equestrian, commercial‑use, and residential buildings throughout Northwest Ohio. Our company is built on craftsmanship, integrity, strong client relationships, and core values that guide how we work:
Rapport, Drive, Macro‑Growth Mindset, Problem‑Solving, Personal Development, and Extreme Ownership.

This is a senior operations leadership role for someone who can lead people, build systems, create accountability, improve profitability, and reduce the need for ownership involvement in daily operations.

About the Role

As the Construction Operations Manager, you will lead and support our Project Managers while maintaining visibility into overall project performance. You will be responsible for improving how projects are planned, executed, tracked, documented, and completed across the company.

This is not a project‑by‑project management role. We are looking for a leader who can oversee the people responsible for projects, strengthen operational systems, and create consistency across the business.

You will work closely with ownership, sales, estimating, project management, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, and to the quality standards our clients expect.

Success in this role means the business can operate smoothly, profitably, and consistently without daily involvement from ownership.

  • Provide leadership, accountability, and support to Project Managers while maintaining visibility into project performance
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators

  • Lead weekly operations meetings to review project performance, identify roadblocks, and drive follow‑through

  • Build, document, and improve scalable processes for project handoff, scheduling, execution, change orders, documentation, and closeout
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality standards, client expectations, labor efficiency, material usage, change orders, and job profitability
  • Hold Project Managers accountable for milestones, documentation, communication, jobsite standards, and internal processes
  • Work with PMs to solve complex project, subcontractor, vendor, client, or sequencing issues without becoming the day‑to‑day Project Manager
  • Collaborate with estimating and sales to ensure scopes, budgets, and expectations are clearly aligned before construction begins
  • Identify operational gaps and implement practical systems to improve performance
  • Develop future leaders within the organization
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management within the operations team
  • Ensure safety standards, code requirements, and quality expectations are followed across all jobs
  • Represent Toledo Pole Barns with professionalism, ownership, and care in both internal and client‑facing situations
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive construction experience, including leadership over Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, field teams, or operations teams
  • Strong background in construction operations, project management leadership, field leadership, or construction business management
  • Proven ability to lead people, create accountability, build systems, and improve operational performance
  • Experience managing multiple active projects, teams, or departments at once
  • Commercial, light commercial, agricultural, post‑frame, custom construction, or related construction experience preferred
