Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Technical Theater Support
Assists the Technical Director with larger tasks that require more than one person and acts as a backup for the Technical Director during vacation or sick days.
Responsibilities- Coordinate events and facility use with the Fine and Performing Arts Chair and CFPA Coordinator.
- Serve as a back‑up technical liaison for all groups using the facility.
- Coordinate scenic and prop build schedules with staff and guest artists.
- Serve as a back‑up head technician for all productions.
- Design lighting and sound for Owens productions and for outside productions where needed.
- Monitor use and maintain technical equipment in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, including lighting, sound, rigging, and shop equipment.
- Supervise, train and monitor students in shop activities, including scenic and prop construction.
- Supervise, train and monitor student and community members in running shows for Owens productions and outside events.
- Act as a back‑up supervisor for all technical rehearsals.
- Knowledge of current practices in theatrical staging, design, and execution.
- Knowledge of lighting and sound design.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
- Written and verbal communication, customer service skills.
- Technical proficiency with lighting and sound equipment.
- Experience using power tools such as drills and saws.
- Capacity to make quick decisions under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist the Technical Director with larger tasks and serve as backup.
- Setup/teardown of equipment such as Marely Dance Floor, light/sound boards, and live stream equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment such as musical instruments.
- Design and install lighting and sound for productions.
Experience in theatrical lighting, sound supervision, scenic construction, and operating live streaming equipment.

Associate degree or two‑year technical certificate in theatre, lighting, sound, or related field.
Job ClassificationFaculty, Non‑Grant Funded, Non‑Exempt (Hourly).
Faculty Duty Days & Work ScheduleVary semester to semester.
