Job SummaryAs a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), you will promote oral health and prevent dental diseases by performing the following:
- Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including reviewing medical histories, taking dental X‑rays, and assessing oral health conditions.
- Provide dental cleanings and periodontal care: prophylaxis cleanings, scaling & root planing, polishing, treating periodontal diseases, placing sealants, administering localized antibiotics, assisting with anesthetic, etc.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene instructions, nutritional counseling, and guidance on preventive measures to maintain optimal oral health.
- Utilize dental software for patient management and documentation.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Strong understanding of anatomy as it relates to oral health.
- Proficiency in patient care techniques and assessment methods.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Associates degree or better).
- Valid license to practice, including required certifications such as radiograph, CPR, and local anesthesia.
- Experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role.
- In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
- Outstanding communication skills and a friendly, patient personality.
- Attention to detail and stamina to meet physical demands.
- Self‑driven and willing to assist in areas outside of hygiene when time permits.
- EHR experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or similar role.
- In‑depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- A patient and friendly personality.
- Attention to detail.
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job.
- A self‑driven individual who is willing to help in times in areas outside of hygiene when the time permits.
$81,950 – $100,000 annual with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus. This position is eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
