At Toledo Design Collective (TDC), we believe that strategic urban planning and design has the power to reshape individual lives, neighborhoods and the greater city of Toledo. A core belief of the TDC is thoughtful planning and urban design should be a right of every person, not just a privilege of the few. TDC works directly with neighborhood groups and organizations to help equip and empower them to advocate for community change and visioning.
Yourinternship at TDC:
- Urban Planning Interns will have the ability to work directly with neighborhood organizations to develop a plan with community.
- Our interns will be involved in the entire design process including community engagement, data gathering, design and even presenting at neighborhood events.
- Interns are expected to have strong communication skills and self-direction.
- 35 hours per week, with the option to work remotely on Fridays when possible.
- City of Toledo Zoning Code Rewrite Engagement Support
- Glass City Riverwalk Engagement Support
- Toledo Lucas County Public Library Listening Sessions
Candidates should be pursuing Bachelor's degree or higher in urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, or relevant fields of study.
Must be familiar with use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point), and professional design software, including Adobe Creative Suite. Preferred candidates have experience in GIS, 3D modeling, Sketch-up and/or Rhino, and/or Auto CAD. Experience with AI design and rendering tools is a plus.
