Classroom Assistant – Preschool – School Year Position (ESCLEW supports schools in West Toledo, Maumee, and Anthony Wayne).
Dedicated School Staffing is proud to support the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West (ESCLEW). The ESCLEW provides special education resources and support to schools and students throughout Lucas County and surrounding communities. The role supports students within designed school sites in preschool classrooms. Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the assistant provides instruction and support to students with emotional, physical, and behavioral challenges as part of special education programs.
The assistant will be assigned to one classroom, student, or group of students for the duration of the school year, with opportunities to continue in this role in the future.
Requirements- High School Diploma required – Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Ohio Department of Education Substitute Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license or ability to obtain license
- Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) required and will be provided; experience with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) preferred
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Ability to restrain students over 150 lbs.
- Occasionally lift and/or move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Duration of school year
- Hours vary for all day, morning, or afternoon hours.
- Enrollment in School Retirement System
- Hourly rate: $14.00 - $17.00 depending on experience
