Lead Early Childhood Teacher: Play- Classroom Leader

The University of Toledo is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher II to lead classroom operations at the Early Learning Center. This role involves providing hands‑on care and play‑based instruction for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years while ensuring compliance with Ohio licensing and quality standards. The teacher monitors child development, fosters family partnerships, and collaborates with colleagues to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Lead classroom operations and provide direct care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play‑based lessons aligned with Ohio Early Learning Standards.
• Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress to guide instruction.
• Maintain compliance with Ohio licensing, Step Up To Quality standards, and center policies.
• Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with educators and administrators.
• Required qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, an Associate degree or Child Development Associate Credential, and mandated trainings within three months.
• Must pass FBI and BCI fingerprint checks and have no convictions related to child abuse or moral turpitude.
• Compensation is $18.63 per hour for a full‑time, union position under AFSCME.
• Preferred qualification is a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Supervision includes daily routines such as meals, snacks, and rest periods, with ability to oversee outdoor activities in varied weather.
