Job OverviewAdjunct Faculty – Criminal Justice (Toledo)
Instruct various courses in the Criminal Justice curriculum. Positions are usually open in the evenings, with some day‑time slots available. Courses may be face‑to‑face or web courses. Prepare syllabus and lesson plans according to curriculum and board policy standards.
Responsibilities- Instruct various courses in the Criminal Justice curriculum.
- Prepare syllabus and lesson plans according to curriculum and board policy standards.
- Teach online and in the classroom to students with differing learning styles.
- Motivate students in online and classroom learning environments.
- Adopt and incorporate new and innovative teaching elements and technologies into online and classroom courses.
- Manage online and face‑to‑face classroom environments.
- Advise students with course selection.
- Build and strengthen community relationships in the criminal justice field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Working knowledge of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
- Working knowledge of the careers in criminal justice.
- Knowledge of Blackboard.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adhere to student learning outcomes and course goals/objectives.
- Ability to teach online and in the classroom to students with differing learning styles.
- Ability to motivate students in online and classroom learning environments.
- Ability to adopt and incorporate new and innovative teaching elements and technologies into online and classroom courses.
- Ability to manage online and face‑to‑face classroom environments.

- Master's degree in Criminal Justice or related field, OR Master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice related topics.
- Preferred candidate would have a master's degree as indicated above and have extensive field experience.
- Evening primary positions, with some day‑time slots available.
- Grant funded position.
- FLSA status:
Exempt. - Pay basis:
Period activity pay. - Hiring range:
Retirement System (STRS).
