Position Title

Applicant Pool for Adjunct Faculty, Dance

Responsibilities
  • TEACH CLASSES:
    Develop syllabus and lesson plans; deliver instruction in person or online; meet all scheduled dates and times; manage classroom or online learning environment; maintain course records and evaluate student work.
  • CREATES AND MAINTAINS ASSIGNMENTS, EVALUATIVE MEASURES, AND RECORDS:
    Design assignments and assessments; grade student work and return it promptly; keep accurate attendance and gradebook records; submit final grades to the Records Office; administer course evaluations.
  • COMMUNICATES EFFECTIVELY:
    Use the college course‑management system and MS Office Suite; respond to all student and department communications within 48 hours; maintain regular checks of email and campus mailbox.
  • ENGAGES IN OTHER DEPARTMENT‑RELATED

    ACTIVITIES:

    Attend workshops, trainings, and meetings; participate in student learning assessment activities; perform additional departmental duties as assigned.
  • SUPPORTS MISSION, VISION, AND CORE VALUES:
    Exhibit core values of Service, Learning, Innovation, Collaboration, and Excellence; maintain professional conduct toward all students, colleagues, and the college community.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Written and oral communication
  • Problem‑solving and critical thinking
  • Computer use, including Microsoft Office, Blackboard, and Owens email
  • Ability to integrate diverse methodologies to facilitate learning
  • Understand community‑college student needs and manage classroom dynamics
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback; evaluate student work fairly using department guidelines
Minimum Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree
  • At least one term of teaching experience, including lesson‑plan development and assessment creation
