Camp & Program ManagerThe Camp & Program Manager is a full‑time position responsible for managing our summer camp program and custom program partnerships. This role will also coordinate with Imagination Station team members in other departments to coordinate special events. The position includes curriculum development as well as developing and maintaining relationships with community partners to implement custom science curricula and our Toledo Tinkers making and tinkering program.
The Camp & Program Manager has one year‑round direct report, and will work with the Programs Coordinator to ensure the high‑quality delivery of Imagination Station programming, particularly in regards to partnership programs. They will also oversee the seasonal summer camp team. This position reports directly to the Director of Education and requires a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
- Maintain current and develop new custom program partnerships, including curriculum development
- Oversee the Toledo Tinkers program, including scheduling programs, maintaining the budget, and grant reporting, with assistance from the Programs Coordinator
- Manage the summer camp program; including curriculum development and oversight of seasonal team members
- Provide leadership and a positive role model for the team in how to effectively deliver science experiences
- Provide programmatic support to special events and activities that occur in the science center and out in the community
- Coordinate with the Chief Scientist and Marketing team to deliver science spots on television or for social media
- Manage projects as assigned that help to further the mission of Imagination Station
- BA/BS degree in Education is preferred, or related experience in education, science, or museum studies
- Background or interest in science is preferred
- Working knowledge of the Ohio and Michigan educational standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and efficient in time management
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and work independently and efficiently
- Self‑starter who demonstrates initiative, creativity, and flexibility while efficiently working with others
- Comfortable presenting science curriculum to students, families, schools, and other community organizations
- 2 years supervisory experience preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license, with a safe driving record and be capable of operating the Imagination Station owned vehicles for program purposes
- Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to provide occasional transportation to events within the Toledo area
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds above the waist
