Position: Principal/ Director

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or higher in Education, Education Administration, Social Service,Business or the equivalent with a valid Ohio Principal’s License.
  • Three years or more experience in school administration
  • Experience in supervision with at risk youth.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Capability of lifting up to fifty pounds
  • Pass a BCI and FBI records check
  • Working knowledge of computers and office software
  • Working knowledge of student databases
General Description

Under the direction of the superintendent, the Director will be responsible for the overall operation of the school in accordance to state and federal law. The Director has the responsibility to insure in-school appropriate fiscal expenditure, facilitate teacher instruction and student learning, teacher evaluation and development, and school safety for all staff and students.

Essential Functions
  • Insure fiscal soundness of Glass City Academy.
  • Maintain safety for all staff and students.
  • Meet required state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and support teacher instruction.
  • Communicate with the Superintendent on all faces of operation.
  • Provide personal transportation to all meetings.
  • Comply with all health and safety standards as set by state and federal regulations, and by Charter School Specialist as our sponsor.
  • Maintain accurate and easily accessible record systems.
  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate the efforts of all staff members.
  • Participate in the Glass City Academy Commencement Ceremony
  • Evaluate all staff members
  • Administer all federal, state, and sponsor required assessments/tests as needed.
  • Review and ensure all graduation requirements for all graduating students.
  • Work with the local community and its members to meet the needs of GCA students.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Superintendent.
