SummaryReporting to the Club Director (CD), the Program Director (PD) manages overall Club programming, ensuring training and programming are disseminated to all program staff. The PD assumes responsibilities of the CD in her/his absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist CD with club plans and develop a comprehensive program strategy.
- Develop and manage all programs assigned to ensure compliance with BGCT policies and overall program standards.
- Assist CD with interviewing, hiring, evaluating and training unit program staff and volunteers.
- Provide daily on‑the‑job training needs and support to program staff.
- Ensure programs meet standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and Boys & Girls Clubs of America and reflect all core areas of programming.
- Coordinate program planning efforts of departmental instructors.
- Receive requisitions and procure supplies necessary for program implementation.
- Monitor membership/registration processes, prepare weekly, monthly, and annual membership reports, and communicate with members whose cards have expired.
- Maintain staff attendance records and employee timesheets for administrative submission.
- Plan and coordinate building displays, bulletin boards, special events, field trips, and out‑of‑building games.
- Periodically drive the BGCT minibus when needed and count monies, verifying daily cash reports.
- Coordinate internal promotion of Club activities and member recognition systems, maintaining accurate records.
- Relieve departmental instructors during break periods as necessary and assume miscellaneous building maintenance duties such as minor repairs.
- Consult with CD on club discipline and guidance systems, general building supervision, parent communication, prospective employee interviewing, promotional duties, and safety and emergency procedures.
- Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, and organizations; manage daily meal reporting with the food delivery partner.
- Develop and maintain public relations to increase visibility of programs, coordinate outside resources, conduct tours, host club visits, and community events.
- Work with staff on special events to conduct programs across all departments and exercise authority in member-related problems.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by CD or Administration.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization focused on developmental needs of young people.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet usage.
- Ability to interview, hire, train, supervise, motivate staff, and handle discipline matters.
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
- Valid Ohio or Michigan driver’s license; insurable status required.
- Full‑time, exempt position operating Monday–Friday 11:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; additional evenings, weekends, and off‑hours for fundraisers and events may be required.
- Maintain close daily contact with Club professional staff, interpreting and explaining mission, objectives, and standards.
- Regularly interact with members for discipline, advice, and counseling.
- Engage with external community groups, schools, parents, and others to resolve problems and publicize the Club.
- Hours:
Monday–Friday, with potential evenings and weekends. - Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
- Tasks include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, and general physical abilities are required to participate fully in Club functions.
