Early Childhood Teacher

The University of Toledo is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher I to support classrooms at the Early Learning Center. The role involves fostering safe, engaging environments for children aged birth to five, implementing play-based instruction, monitoring development, and collaborating with families and educators to encourage learning and growth.

• Assist lead teachers with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons.
• Support children's safety, health, and well-being throughout the day.
• Maintain organized, engaging, and safe learning environments.
• Observe children's development, assist with documentation and assessments.
• Partner with families through regular communication to support learning and growth.
• Collaborate with educators and administrators to foster an inclusive classroom.
• Comply with Ohio licensing rules and documentation requirements.
• Require knowledge of Infant & Child First Aid & CPR, communicable disease prevention, and child abuse recognition.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED and 60 college semester hours in Early Childhood Education or relevant childcare experience.
• Posted salary is $17.10 per hour, with union membership in AFSCME.
